C# Enum

In C# An enumeration type (enum) is a value type defined by a set of named constants of the underlying integral numeric type. To define an enumeration type, use the enum keyword and specify the names of enum members:

Syntax

enum <enum_name> {
   enumeration list
};

C# Enum creation example

enum WeekDays
{
    Monday,
    Tuesday,
    Wednesday,
    Thrursday,
    Friday,
    Saturday,
    Sunday
}

How to Access C# Enum Example

using System;

namespace EnumApplication {
   class EnumProgram {
      enum WeekDays
      {
        Monday,
        Tuesday,
        Wednesday,
        Thrursday,
        Friday,
        Saturday,
        Sunday
      }

      static void Main(string[] args) {
         int mondayWeekDay = (int)WeekDays.Monday;

         Console.WriteLine("Monday: {0}", mondayWeekDay);
         Console.ReadKey();
      }
   }
}
