Comparing two strings, ignoring case in PHP

php compare strings case insensitive

// Easiest way to check if two strings are the same regardless of case:
// Convert both to lowercase (or uppercase, your choice!) and compare them.

$foo="Hello There!";
$bar="HELLO THERE!";
	echo "Strings are the same";
	echo "Strings are different";

To case-insensitively compare strings, use strcasecmp:

$var1 = "Hello";
$var2 = "hello";
if (strcasecmp($var1, $var2) == 0) {
    echo '$var1 is equal to $var2 in a case-insensitive string comparison';
